I take great care in creating an exceptional client experience before, during, and after your session takes place.

Let’s get your due date scheduled! Newborn sessions are booked by due date, to ensure flexibility when the baby comes. 

A non-refundable deposit of $125 is required up front to reserve your due date.

The balance for your session is due on the day of the session.

• Setting​

  • A studio session takes place in a controlled environment designed specifically for newborn photography. The setting is typically serene and professional, with access to a variety of backdrops, lighting, and props.

• Style:

  • Studio sessions often focus on posed newborn shots, using props, blankets, and soft lighting to create beautiful, timeless images of your baby.

  • Newborns are usually posed in specific ways, with the emphasis on capturing the delicate details of their tiny features.

  • The images are typically more polished, styled, and creatively controlled compared to lifestyle sessions.

• Experience:

  • Studio sessions usually require more structure and preparation. They are often done within the first two weeks after birth to ensure the baby is still sleepy and cooperative for posing.

  • Parents may have less interaction in the photos, as the focus is often more on capturing posed, perfect portraits of the baby.

  • The controlled environment allows the photographer to focus entirely on lighting and the baby’s positioning, which can result in beautifully crafted images.

• Outcome:

  • Expect highly stylized, fine art portraits of your newborn. The images are typically more polished, with an emphasis on texture, soft lighting, and posing to create visually stunning keepsakes.

After your booking you will receive more information on how to prepare for your session.

I will block off an area around your due date. When your baby arrives you will contact me right away as I only have limited days available and we will book a day when baby is 5-12 days young. ​

Studio Sessions offer a more posed and direction style, with full access to a variety of props and outfits for both the newborn and the entire family. Perfect for creating timeless, styled portraits.

LIFESTYLE   NEWBORN EXPERIENCE

A relaxed, natural session in the comfort of your home, focusing on authentic moments. Only A few wraps, mainly lifestyle poses  —just capturing your family as they are. Available at any age. It is still best to book when baby is still sleepy so around

5-14 days young.  A lifestyle newborn session takes place in the comfort of your home. This allows the session to capture your family’s authentic environment, creating a relaxed and personal atmosphere.

• Focused on natural, candid moments. These sessions highlight the connection between family members and the everyday interactions that define your life.

• The use of natural light is common, but I will bring a studio lights. The setting tends to be more organic, with minimal props or posing.

• Perfect for capturing intimate, emotional moments in familiar surroundings—snuggles on the couch, feeding the baby, or cozying up in the nursery.

• More laid-back and flexible, allowing time for feeding, soothing, or taking breaks. Since the baby is in a familiar environment, they tend to be more relaxed.

• Great for parents who want to avoid the hassle of traveling and prefer a more personal, documentary-style shoot.

• In-home sessions are ideal for telling the story of your family’s life in a natural way, incorporating meaningful details like the nursery, baby’s first outfit, or your home’s décor.

• The photos from an in-home session typically feel more personalized and reflect the everyday beauty of your family life. Expect images that capture emotions, tiny details, and a raw sense of your new chapter as parents.

• Travel fees do apply, if outside of Shuswap area.

 P0SING & SAFETY ​

I have taken many courses on how to pose newborns safely and with ease.

Safety is always my number one priority when it comes to handling newborns.

Newborn safety procedures are utilized during posing and wrapping throughout the session.
I will never force a baby into a pose. I aim for a variety of posing during the session.

Some babies are resistant to certain poses and that’s okay. We will move on to others.
